Why go

Royal Spa Garden

The Royal Spa Garden was laid out in 1868 by the royal Bavarian court gardener Carl von Effner and is still considered one of the most beautiful spa gardens in Central Europe. Seasonal planting, flower beds, old trees and ponds make it a peaceful place to walk at any time of year.

The garden is framed by the Königliches Kurhaus, the Wandelhalle, the concert rotunda and the 160-metre Gradierhaus, where salt water trickles over blackthorn and fills the air with brine. Kurmusik concerts by the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker are held here all year round, except on Mondays.

In front of the Gradierhaus, the AlpenSole fountain shows the giant Atlas carrying a great shell from which salt water rises: loungers around it invite you to breathe the fine, cool mist.
